Swinburne talks future career possibilities with SMK St Anthony students
SARIKEI: Swinburne University of Technology recently conducted a motivational talk at SMK St Anthony’s lecture hall here, in conjunction with the school’s 88th anniversary and First World Anthonian’s Day.
Representing Swinburne was the university’s School of Business marketing lecturer Dr Jeffrey Jee Teck Weng, who delivered a talk titled ‘From Classroom to Boardroom’ where he spoke about turning one’s aspirations into future career possibilities.
During his session, students were introduced to Swinburne’s programmes in various disciplines such as engineering, science, computing, business and design.
Additionally, they gained useful insights into the possible professional pathways for graduates armed with the Swinburne Australian certificate.
Jee also emphasised Swinburne’s commitment to producing future-ready learners who would be equipped for employment through industry-linked projects and engagements.
Over 60 Form 5 science stream students and 56 Form 5 arts stream students, as well as 40 Form 6 science stream students attended the talk.
Among those present were First World Anthonian’s Day and 88th Anniversary organising co- chairman Temenggong Frederick Wong Kung Kuong, SMK St Anthony principal Vincent Liong Shou Chuan, parent-teacher association head Maureen Chua Geck Liang and SMK St Anthony Alumni Association chairman Eric Ling Hung Leong.
Among the various activities held to mark the school’s anniversary and First World Anthonian’s Day were a 5km night run, official opening of the school’s gymnasium and hall, as well as a reunion dinner.
